Kraving Some Salt?
Well it’s been a HUGE couple of weeks, and I’ve spent more time on stage out of Sydney than in! A couple of weekends ago, my good friend Millie Poppins and I made the trek to NSW wine country to perform at an MS fundraiser in the Hunter Valley. (more…)

And The Madness of Mardi Gras Begins!
Last weekend I had the pleasure of hosting the ANZ Main Stage at Fair Day 2010 which incorporated the launch of the Mardi Gras Festival. It was a truly magnificent day with splendid weather and SO much going on. There were stalls all over the place showcasing the talents of some of our best producers and service providers, the hilarity of Doggywood, a sneak preview of some of Mardi Gras’ performers and more rainbows than I’ve ever seen before. Summer Salt Hosts Fair Day 2010
Well the party season is most definitely beginning! With Fair Day, and it’s inclusion of the Mardi Gras launch, Gay Christmas is just around the corner. I had the pleasure of hosting the main stage in the morning of Fair Day in 2009, and am ecstatic to have been asked come back and extend my duties into the afternoon. It’s an absolute honour and I’m looking forward to seeing the many acts take to the stage to show Sydney just how diverse our community really is.
There will be DJ’s, bands, singers, dancers, leather exhibitions, plenty of stalls, a bigger rides section than ever before and of course the ever popular Doggywood events! Every year that I have attended or worked at Fair Day, I have been filled with a sense of immense pride for Gay Sydney. All in all, we are smart, sexy, funny, innovative, loving and generous people, and Fair Day is the best day of the year to share our culture with each other and the rest of the world. Everyone is welcome to Fair Day, regardless of anything including age. Bring your friends, parents, kids, dogs and perhaps even your love-slaves to enjoy a day in Victoria Park Broadway as we kick off the Mardi Gras season with a bang!
I’ll be hosting the main stage from 10am till 2pm at Fair Day this Sunday 21st February, so keep an eye out for the blonde in the pink; and remember to show your generosity by donating to our charities at every opportunity!

XMAS, NEW YEARS AND FACIAL INJURY WRAP-UP!
The Christmas season never ceases to amaze me. It creeps up on you until the second week of December, and then you’re in a whirlwind of wrapping paper, awesome (or unwanted!) presents, drinking, eating too much, drinking more, not drinking enough, drinking MORE, and coming through the other side in a whole different year to when you started. Dazed and confused, you start work again nursing a sore head and a whole bunch of fabulous memories.
This year was a little different for me; my memory missed a significant part of NYE Eve when I was drinking double-vodka-nothings on the beach with some close friends and I got lost after running from a policeman when he asked “Was that you letting off the fireworks?”. The correct thing to so would have been to say “Who Sir? Me Sir? NO Sir!”, the incorrect thing do to was to piss-bolt in the opposite direction, get lost on a different track, fight with a tree branch or 8 and to be found by a search party bleeding from a significant laceration to the head.
